Our housing department currently operates the following programs:

Saddletree Estates

A twelve-unit apartment complex nestled in the Saddletree Community. Quiet, peaceful surroundings and designed exclusively for the elderly, handicapped and disabled.

Saddletree Estates offers:

1 & 2 bedroom apartments

Washer & dryer connections

Spacious kitchen with plenty of cabinet & counter space

Frost-free refrigerator

Cover front & back porches

Central Heat & Air conditioning

Cable or Dish network hookup

Eligibility Requirements:

♦ Must be 35 years of older

♦ Applicants must meet National Gross Median Income Criteria

♦ Must have a Lumbee Tribal Enrollment Card

♦ Rental unit must be used as Primary Residence

♦ Children or grandchildren are not allowed to live with person

♦ Co-habitation is not allowed

♦ Must have verification of income

♦ Pay 1st month's rent of $315, plus $150 Security Deposit

♦ Obtain a Criminal Background Check

♦ Have a good credit history

♦ Be self-sufficient

♦ Complete an application form

Cypress Gardens

The project is to build 17 Energy Efficient homes over a 3-year period, all homes will be built according to Advanced Energy standards, which is a $5,000 energy efficient package at no cost to the customer. LRDA partners with other agencies to offer a deferred, no interest loan, up to $20,000 in order for you to get the mortgage brokered at your lending agency.

Requirements:

♦ Must be able to get a conventional loan at a lending agency. (If one has credit blemishes LRDA will work with the customer to clear problems in order to get a mortgage brokered.)

♦ Social Security Cards for everyone in the household

♦ Verification of household income

♦ Drivers License (picture ID)

♦ Fill out a loan application

♦ Fill out a new home construction application (if applicable)

♦ Tribal card (if applicable)
