LRDA Administration

Since 1968, the Lumbee Regional Development Association, Inc. has worked aggressively to improve services for members of the Lumbee River community and has received state and federal support to operate programs and services to improve the quality of life for surrounding communities.

 

LRDA, Inc. is operated by an experienced and responsible staff who have unique abilities in their respective areas. Key staff of LRDA are responsible for administration, accounting, planning, and reporting activities for the organization. The administration of LRDA includes the Board of Directors, the Executive Director, Fiscal Officer, Planner, and Public Relations Officer.

 

The Board and Staff work to insure the most effective delivery of services and use of available resources. The agency has a sound organizational structure that has been developed through years of experience operating assistance programs. LRDA has implemented systems to help ensure the success of the organization and to achieve objectives agreed upon by the LRDA management and project funding sources.

 

LRDA is the main sponsor for the Lumbee Homecoming Festival, Powwows, and other Indian cultural events in the area. The Lumbee River Pathway on the Internet supports these efforts.

 

LRDA has excellent involvement of various Indian communities in its projects and services. Members of the LRDA Board of Directors include businessmen, educators, contractors, service workers, and local, state, and federal government employees.

 

LRDA has a very sound fiscal management system. Members of LRDA administration provide all fiscal control, accounting, and property management in accordance with principles and policies established by federal and state funding sources. Each year an independent audit of the fiscal operations of the organization is completed.
