This cookbook contains 480 recipes that were donated by the senior citizens from Robeson, Hoke and Scotland counties.

There are two methods for purchasing The Senior Traveling Companions cookbook. (A) Pickup at LRDA office ($10.00)
(B) Mail out (money order only $15.00)

Vanilla Wafer Cake
                                                                                                            1 c. butter            1 c. chopped pecans             1/2 c. milk
                                                                                                             2 c. sugar            7 oz. can flaked coconut      1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
                                                                                                             6 eggs                  12 oz box vanilla wafers, crushed

Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs, one at a time; beat well after each addition. Add milk and vanilla flavoring; mix well. Add pecans, coconut, and vanilla wafers, mixing well. Pour into a well-greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour. Let cool.
